Special Events Recordings

Now you can hear a recording of Unity’s upcoming special events after office hours! Just call the office, and listen to the greeting—it will direct you to press #8 for special events. Also, if Sunday services are canceled due to severe weather (a rare occurrence), this information will be on the phone greeting and website as well.

Battery Recycling Program

Unity is now collecting household batteries, including rechargeable batteries (not car batteries).

“Thou Shall Not Throw Away Thy Batteries!”

WHY?
Did you know:

  • The average person buys 21 batteries per year.
  • The average household buys 100 batteries per year.
  • And currently less than 2% of all batteries are recycled.

Did you know:

  • When batteries are dumped from our garbage they leach mercury, lead, cadmium, and nickel into the ground water, lakes, and streams.
  • When incinerated these heavy metals, which are linked to cancer and respiratory illnesses are released into the air.
  • Recycling batteries allows some of these heavy metals to be reused to make new batteries lessening the global impact of mining.

Did you know:

  • You can make a difference by recycling your batteries and telling at least 10 people to do the same.

Bring your batteries to Unity!
Drop them in our battery collecting container (located downstairs under the table next to the kitchen door) or drop them off at any Batteries Plus location. They collect and recycle all batteries.

The Green Team thanks you for helping in this effort. No Batteries Needed – You have the power! RECYCLE!
