Debbie Walker will be teaching a class called "Overview of the Christian Scriptures". The course will cover the Gospels through Revelation to provide a basic understanding of the response of the early Christian writers to the person and message of Jesus and the meaning their texts had for their audiences.
This class can be taken for personal interest or for credit as a Field SEE course. It is a prerequisite for taking the Interpretation of the Christian Scriptures course.
The class will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30 on the nights of March 21, 28, April 11, 18 and 25. It will be held via Zoom only.
Two books are required for the class:
1) Reading the Bible Again For the First Time: Taking the Bible Seriously but Not Literally by Marcus J. Borg (available on Amazon).
2) a Bible. The New Revised Standard Version is recommended for this course.
